After years of pursuing a monolithic appearance and with little differentiation, more and more manufacturers agree on one thing: the curve is beautiful. This way Honor proclaims it with the throwing of the symmetrical Magic, a new high-end phone that stands out for a striking design that combines glass and metal in a curved device as any other modern smartphone.
Without being a direct rival, reminiscent to some extent to Xiaomi Mi Mix, that bet by a chassis of negligible frames to convey the feeling of witnessing a device is all screen.
Huawei seems ready to give Honor a real flagship with this new phone, which condenses in its interior a remarkable specifications. Its curvaceous front surface protects a 5.1-inch AMOLED screen with QHD resolution (2.560 x 1.440), camouflaging the sensors with a special treatment that only shows the front camera (which has its own flash). The device can recognize the face of the user through some type of infrared sensor to unlock specific profiles, although the Magic also has a fingerprint reader.
The technical specifications of Magic contemplate a Kirin 950 processor and 4 GB RAM, running slightly below the recent Huawei Mate 9.
The rear camera is another seemingly very elegant aspect. Honor repeats the well-known dual-sensor configuration by combining a monochrome and a color captor to produce blur effects or take high-quality black-and-white photos. Unlike the smartphones launched under the seal of Huawei, this does not count with the visible signature of Leica.
The software also has some peculiarities. For example, the phone is able to detect when it is being held by the user, in which case it will simply vibrate instead of ringing when receiving a call.
