Apple is now selling its new Mac Pro black cylinder

Apple progressed the past month of June would be like the new version of its Mac Pro desktop. The company surprised the market with a product designed around a unified thermal core which incorporates a new architecture and a design optimized for maximum performance.

A computer that is only surprising at first sight for its unique circular design. A device that begins this Friday at the market from 3,000 euros and order both the Apple Online Store and company stores and some of its dealers.

This was announced in Twitter’s Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, also remembering that device being manufactured in Austin (Texas, USA). In fact, it is one of the first models that apple company assembled in their home country after making the decision to bring back some of their production equipment to U.S.

The peculiar personal computer “the future”, according to Apple, incorporates the latest Intel Xeon processors, dual GPU of high performance and workstation type, flash based storage in PCIe and ultrafast ECC memory. The computer is, as mentioned, designed around a unified thermal aluminum core that measures 25.1cm high and occupies one-eighth the size of the previous Mac Pro generation.

The new Mac Pro integrates Intel Xeon processors with 4, 6, 8 or 12 cores with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.9 GHz and two GPU AMD FirePro workstation type that offer, assert from Apple, up to eight times the graphics performance of the previous generation of Mac Pro.

Meanwhile, also according to data from the company, the PCIe-based flash storage offers sequential read speeds up to 10 times faster than conventional hard drives, ECC DDR3 memory and the new Mac Pro provides a wide memory bandwidth of up to 60 GBps, smooth 4K video editing while simultaneously processes the effects in the background.

The desktop also includes six ports Thunderbolt 2 (each with up to 20 Gbps of bandwidth for external device) so that it significantly extends the scalability of a desktop computer because it allows connecting up to 36 high-performance peripherals, including generation 4K monitors. As regards the brain of the computer, this is the operating system OS X Mavericks, which comes standard.

Build and Price
Apple has launched two possible configurations for the new Mac Pro, one from 3049 euros and one from 4,049 euros (VAT is included in both cases). The first incorporates Intel Xeon E5 quad core processor at 3.7 GHz and Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.9 GHz, AMD FirePro D300 Dual GPU with 2GB VRAM each, 12 GB memory and 256 GB of flash storage based on PCIe.

The most expensive configuration incorporates Intel Xeon E5 processor six-core 3.5 GHz and Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.9 GHz, dual GPU AMD FirePro D500 with 3GB of VRAM each, 16GB memory and 256GB PCIe flash storage. Although it is possible the user to choose a setup with 8 and 12 cores Xeon E5 processors, GPUs AMD FirePro D700 with 6GB VRAM, up to 64GB memory and up to 1 TB PCIe flash storage.
